Ticbiomed joins Barcelona Health Hub to boost eHealth impact in the health sector

Ticbiomed, the European business association that promotes collaborative projects in digital health, becomes a member of Barcelona Health Hub with the aim of boosting eHealth impact in the health sector.

“We connect demand and supply to empower our future generations’ health, thus Barcelona Health Hub is a key partner for us”, says Jorge González, director of Ticbiomed. With more than 160 members, the main added value of this association is its extensive European digital health network to successfully connect unmet health needs with digital solutions.

As Jorge highlighted: “We support demand-driven approaches, where the client is the one defining its need. Then we go to the market to find the best partner to co-create the digital health solution to solve that need”. This model is gaining popularity among pharmas, insurance companies and healthcare organizations in their open innovation strategies. Both, inDemand and MSD Innovation Factory are good examples of the way Ticbiomed works applying demand-side and co-creation approaches.

Furthermore, Ticbiomed is a key player at European level, with strong expertise in managing EU projects. Beyond coordinating digital health projects, the business association is currently promoting the adoption of innovation in healthcare organizations, to avoid “pilotitis”. Innovation without adoption is money for nothing is Jorge’s mantra, warning on the importance of changing the internal culture and developing an adoption strategy. To Ticbiomed this is vital to achieve real digital transformation in healthcare.

Through the partnership with Barcelona Health Hub, Ticbiomed aims to extend and strengthen its international network and add more value to its members. “Spain and the whole international eHealth ecosystem are lucky to have such a strong player like Barcelona Health Hub”.
