Prepare, a new #HorizonEurope initiative, kicks off with a strong focus on creating more effective policies and instruments for innovation adoption

Nowadays, we have highly effective innovation procurement policies and instruments that cover certain needs and regulate and facilitate the development of processes of a specific scale. However, for various reasons, such as time delay or the complexity of the associated procedures and requirements, they are not as functional for other types of projects, typically smaller and regionally focused, making very complex the adoption process.

Prepare, a project aimed at making things easier

Coordinated by Ticbiomed, dedicated, among other things, to improving policies and processes shaping innovation adoption, Prepare holds the promise of being highly relevant, particularly in terms of the definition of mechanisms and innovation policies aimed to create impact.

The project encompasses four regions, Oulu (Finland), Bucharest-Ilfov (Romania), Skåne (Sweden), and Murcia (Spain). Each of them is represented by two organisations, which make up the consortium. It is noteworthy that the proposal and consortium creation took into account the different maturity levels of each region in terms of innovation, to ensure diverse perspectives and insights.

For starters, acquiring knowledge

Prepare will dedicate its first 6 months to gathering information about the current state of innovation in the four regions it encompasses.

Regional partners will keep a deep interaction with the respective regional public bodies in charge of innovation policies and funding instruments, as well as with the most relevant actors in the innovation ecosystem who propose and execute projects with advanced knowledge and best practices.

To conclude, strategic blueprint

During the second half of the project, based on all the knowledge gained, a Joint Action Plan for the four regions will be created, accompanied by four individual regional Action Plans, adapted to the specificities of each place.

Having taken into account the particularities of each region and their different degrees of innovation maturity, these plans will be applicable to multiple regions in similar situations in the future.

Prepare Consortium

Ticbiomed, Project Coordinator and Communications Manager

Prepare is a highly strategic project for Ticbiomed. The association, an #ImpactfulInnovation expert, not only coordinates the project but also extensively promotes Prepare through communication and dissemination initiatives, especially targeted at policymakers.

In its role, Ticbiomed proposes an approach to the project including its three fundamental pillars: demand-driven, co-creation, and Impactful Innovation. The ultimate goal is for successful innovation to be adopted, because adoption is the only outcome that makes the whole process of innovation truly worthwhile.
