Regional innovation policies
Design your regional demand-driven innovation strategy
We advise regional agencies in charge of innovation to set up demand-driven and innovation procurement policies. We support the design of instruments and approaches to adapt those policies to the local realities.
The process starts with the organisation identifying a need, instead of the startup developing a technology and trying to bring it to the market.
Entities in charge of promoting local innovation (like RDAs) are best positioned to implement policies that enable the co-creation of innovative solutions under a structured process.
Nowadays, Smart Specialization Strategies tend to demand-driven approaches.
Benefits of the demand-driven innovation policies
- Give innovative responses to the challenges, improving regional public organizations.
- Create business opportunities for private companies.
- Promote collaboration between local innovation stakeholders for more effective and larger outcomes.
- Enhance public services and creates economic growth; improve the citizens’ living standards.
What we can do for you...
1
Support your design of demand-driven innovation strategies
Public procurement of innovation instruments are not always adaptable to the particularities of the regions. Leaner approaches, as in inDemand, Cherries and InnoBuyer projects, have a better fit. Combined with impactful innovation principles can lead to an effective deployment of innovation.
By getting to know alternative instruments and how to put them in value, we can contribute to make your policy more effective while fitting into your reality.
2
Connect with the experiences of other regions
Ticbiomed, as coordinator of the PREPARE project, has supported the design of demand-driven policies that fit into the realities of the agencies that promote innovation in four EU regions. We also have access to international networks and platforms that exchange insights and best practices on regional innovation instruments.
3
Collaborate
We will continue to promote projects, like Coordination and Support Actions, to increase our expertise and networks. The cluster is always keen on getting to know players interested in the topic for future collaborations. Likewise, we will be happy to join consortia where we can deliver value.
